Abstract

We present a web interface that allows users to keep track of the entire lifetime of VLT (Very Large Telescope) programs: from proposals to observations and publications. It links scientific papers with the observing proposals and archival data, located at the ESO/ST-ECF Science Archive Facility. This service is a prerequisite to the astronomical Virtual Observatory.

The interface provides search options by bibliographic details (author, title, journal, publication year etc.) as well as by observatory site, telescope, instrument and program ID. Papers based on ESO observations can also be retrieved through the ADS Abstract Service from where active links to the ESO Archive are provided.
